Kailleaugh Andersson Biography

Horror Author Kailleaugh Andersson

Kailleaugh Andersson was born December 21st (the longest and darkest
night of the year), 1972 in southwest Oregon and presently resides in the north
east of Scotland in the city of Aberdeen. He has also lived in Oregon, Idaho and on
the distant outskirts of Seattle, Washington.

Despite a Gaelic first name and aScandinavian surname, his heritage is strictly that
of a Slav of  primarily Russian and Czech-Bohemian roots, with a few slivers of
Serbian and Romanian. His connection to his Slavic ancestry is often seen in his
fiction, in that he often sets his work in Russia, Moldova, the Crimea, Kazahkstan
and the Balkans. He also speaks Russian, Czech, Slovak, Romanian and a bit of
Serbian in varying degrees, as well as some German.

He is married to erotic horror writer Alex Severin

Kailleaugh Andersson had his first publishing credit in NORTH WEST
UNDERGROUND MAGAZINE  and has over 200 horror fiction publishing
credits since 1989, despite a five year hiatus of not submitting his work.
Kailleaugh is often regarded as the "Master of the short-short horror story" due
to his habit of writing fast and furious, hard hitting horror stories that are consistantly
under the 1500 word mark. While other developing horror writers often try to write
longer stories as they progress as horror writers, Kailleaugh Andersson has chosen to
write at shorter lengths while emphasizing his ability to catch the reader's interest with
his first sentence. Despite his habit of writing extremely short, his ability to create a rich
atmosphere is often ranked by his fans as leaps and bounds beyond anyone writing in the
horror genre past or present.

Some of his more recent publishing credits include inclusion in HOUSE OF PAIN, SHORT SCARY TALES, LILITH'S LAIR,
GOTHABILLY, SHADOW OF THE MARQUIS, HAVEN OF DARK BLOOD, GHOSTBREAKERS: NEW HORRORS
anthology, VAMPIRE'S REALM OF DARKNESS, SPLATTERPUNK, EPIPHANY MAGAZINE, SECOND SHIFTERS
RADIO, ART OF HORROR, MURDER HOLE, DARK CORNERS,SAVAGE NIGHT, THE SWAMP, DARK CORNERS,
PEEP SHOW MAGAZINE and many more. During 2003, hehas submitted over 50 pieces of fiction to varying markets, which has
resulted in only one rejection to date.

In addition, he has also enjoyed a relatively large success in writing non-fiction, where he has  had over
500 published credits since 1995.

Kailleaugh Andersson's first fiction collection, entitled "Suspended At Dusk" was released in 1995 by Gothic Press:
Publishers of the Abstract and promptly sold nearly 800 copies in the gothic and punk undergrounds of Portland,
Seattle and Vancouver, BC. His second release, a poetry collection called "Skeletal Remains" was released in 1996.
NW Underground Magazine also released a special freebie chapbook entitled "Cases of Lycanthropy" late that same
year as a companion to their Winter 1996 issue. Following these early successes, in mid 1997, Exile Press of Saskatoon,
Canada published his collection "Dark Destinies" in a Russian language edition for the horror hungry readers of the former
Eastern Bloc.

Kailleaugh's first collection since going on a willing hiatus from publishing his work for nearly five years is due for release
in late 2003 and is a short collection of psychotic horror and manic western-horror entitled "Happy Fun Ball & Other
Stories To Read While Institutionalized" due from Massacre Publications.

Kailleaugh Andersson is also the co-owner and editor of Massacre Publications, which is a small press company
featuring upcoming works by such upcoming names as Alex Severin, Hertzan Chimera, Rickey Windell George,
Anthony Beal, C. Dennis Moore and Brian W. Cooke.  In addition, Massacre Publications is also working on
the release of several anthologies, most notably BLASPHEMY, which is being co-published with SST Publications.

Outside of the horror genre, Kailleaugh is a seedsman by trade and is self employed. He is working very hard towards the day
when he can truly regard himself as self-sufficient and not reliant on the likes Uncle $cam or WalMart.

Kailleaugh is presently working to finish a novella entitled "BENEDICTION", which is a tale of  historical horror set in the final
days of Imperialist Russia.

When he's not writing or editing, Kailleaugh spends much of his time in a life devoted to personal anarchy or throwing shit at
idiots running their mouths on Fox News.
